Telling the Story of a Space:

Introducing Real Estate & Architectural Photography

There’s something about walking into a home that speaks before a single word is said.

Maybe it’s the golden light streaming across a hardwood floor, or the shadows dancing along the curves of a stairwell. Maybe it’s the way a cozy breakfast nook feels like it’s still holding someone’s laughter. These are the things I’ve always noticed—and now, I’m excited to share that I’m offering real estate and architectural photography through Journeys Photostories.

This offering has grown out of something deeply natural for me. I’ve always seen rooms not just as spaces, but as scenes—places where life happens, where emotion lingers. When an interior designer recently brought me on for ongoing photography work, she shared that it was the emotion in my images that caught her attention. That meant everything. Because that’s what I’m drawn to: the feeling in a room, the story it tells.

More Than Just a Photo of a Room

Anyone can take a clean, well-lit photo of a space.. .

That’s the easy part.
I’m after something layered: a photograph that captures the soul of a home. I look for nuances—the soft shadows that fall in the right corner at just the right time, the glow of early morning sun spilling onto a kitchen counter, the cozy hush of a dim hallway. Sometimes a “perfectly” lit room can feel sterile, I want to preserve what makes it human.
This approach blends my background in interior design with a dual perspective: one eye for balance, lines, & the other for emotional tone.

Real, Honest, and Artful

Art doesn’t have to be dramatic. It can be subtle. Real. Honest. That’s the kind of art I aim to create in this work.

I’ve always been inspired by the spaces I encounter in daily life—not just designer homes, but old buildings, quiet chapels, and even forgotten, abandoned places.

They all have their own voice. And I believe that every space has the potential to be seen through that same lens of beauty and meaning.

What to Expect

A typical session includes:

  • $275 for up to 4 rooms
  • 4–5 carefully composed images per room
  • An artistic, documentary-style approach that still meets the functional needs of real estate marketing
  • Thoughtful composition, attention to architectural features, and an emphasis on natural light and texture

I approach every shoot with intention—looking for the unique elements that define a space. A beautifully worn step. An arched window. A splash of color where it’s least expected. Every detail helps tell the story.
